This means that one or more structures are not functioning properly and the body has made compensations that cause pain and reduced function.
We have very thorough training in differential diagnosis. Therefore, we can distinguish between the problems we can treat, the functional disorder/diagnosis, and the clinical medical diagnosis. With a clinical diagnosis, we will always advise the patient to go to the doctor.
For clinical/structural diagnoses, we can often relieve symptoms. We cannot treat the cause because the body has changed structure. An example could be heart disease. If you’ve had a blood clot in the heart and the heart has been damaged, we can’t restore normal function. This is a problem and a treatment that doctors can deal with.
